Who’s behind Sandra Elizabeth?

In a nutshell it might go something like this….

Sandra…..a bit of a nomad with a passion for beautiful handmade things, creativity, natural places, Asian design, a nice cup of tea and a sweet treat now and again!

Getting to be the jeweller I was meant to be has been quite a ride!  En route, let's think, there was a degree in agriculture, a fun run in with photography, some great years editing film for television, overseas with VSO, back to school to learn to make jewellery, teaching Art in 4 countries, now finally a maker….… Phew!

What about Sandra the nomad?

As a young adult I had the travel bug and my Art teaching passport has taken me to amazing places in several countries including and a long spell in Asia. After twenty something years overseas I returned to the UK, found my cosy cottage in rural Wales and am gradually adjusting to a cooler climate! Its been a huge move but my workshop is up and running and I am back to enjoying making beautiful thoughtful jewellery inspired by life’s experiences and places. I look forward to sharing my love of handmade jewellery with folks who love it too, like you!

What an incredible joy it’s been to get back to making jewellery and definitely better late than never!  I hope you enjoy my life inspired designs.

Life really is the great influencer isn’t it?

My jewellery is rich with personal memories of places, cultures and traditions I have come to know and love, especially in Asia. From my new home in rural Wales I am excited to begin work on new jewellery designs inspired by the stunning environment around me. Asia will always be in my heart, and my jewellery, exploring Wales is my next big creative adventure.

As a maker, I get huge pleasure knowing that when you wear, or give, my jewellery it begins a whole new life, enriched with your memories, stories and connections to people important to you. That is wonderful too!

Keyuan Collection

Keyuan is a historical garden in Dongguan, China. A place to visit for quiet contemplation in a noisy urban city.

The Keyuan collection has a modern feel, drawing on the intricate yet elegant geometry of old Chinese lattice window design. I fell in love with this design style which is found throughout South East Asia.

A fantastic inspiration for contemporary jewellery design.

Naiyang, a natural place

Naiyang is my favourite beach in Phuket. It has a quiet corner that stilled my mind and is the source of inspiration for design. The flowing lines of wave patterns and an array of amazing sea creatures. I especially love watching the hermit crabs in their borrowed homes pottering about on the sand.

The Naiyang collections reflect my love of this place. Touches of gold on silver, and flashes of colour from gemstones adding a hint of luxury to quietly dazzle and enjoy anytime.
